Okay, I can’t help myself.

The Intercollegiate Studies Institute is running one of those surveys, this one on what American citizens and American officeholders know about American history and government.  It’s here

    Answers to Your Missed Questions:
    Question #7 – D. Gettysburg Address
    Question #10 – C. Religion
    —-

Some I guessed or worked out; I didn’t actually know them off by heart.

And of course, I’m not American, but that’s not technically all that relevant since half my family is, I had an American great-uncle who tried to educate me a bit in the American Way, I live in a neigbouring country and I read a lot.

    Answers to Your Missed Questions:
Question #18 – A. guarantee women the right to vote in national elections
    Question #26 – C. revenue minus expenses
Question #33 – D. tax per person equals government spending per person

I’m a damned fool. I knew the answers to #26 and #33 but had a brain fart.

I knew most of the answers to those questions before I graduated from my Australian High School in 1956.

It simply staggers me that the national average is barely 78%. Incredible.
